Here’s a welcome message from Jawahir himself, describing himself what Straight From The Hip is all about. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A Message from Jawahir Mulraj Dear Subscriber: Welcome to 'Straight From the Hip', a weekly stock market column written by me that has run for over 18 years on various platforms. The column tries to take up issues relating to individual investors who, unlike the corporate sector (represented through bodies like CII, FICCI, ASSOCHAM etc), or mutual funds (represented through AMFI), or banks (IBA), do not have a body to represent their interests. It also takes up issues of both corporate governance and public governance which need to be raised as they impact economic performance which, in turn, impacts stock markets. The column tries to put things in a perspective and to stimulate thought by its readers. It does not, and will not, recommend stocks for investment, for several reasons. Primarily, I wish to remain as objective as humanly possible. Secondly, stock markets are influenced by thousands of factors, needing a dynamic level of attention that can be provided by the investor himself or an advisor; and not a static one at a certain point in time. I hope you, dear reader, will enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy penning it.
