However, ICICI has increased substantially the provision for bad and doubtful debts during the quarter. This has limited the overall growth in profitability.

Mukunda Industrial Finance Ltd has reported a net profit growth of 58%

Mukunda Industrial Finance reported a net profit of Rs 2.9 m for the 3QFY2000. The main drivers to profit were higher income from operations and other income and lower operating expenses. The net margins have gone up from 18% in 3QFY99 to 24% in 3QFY2000.

DSP Merrill Lynch has reported a sharp jump in profits

DSP Merrill Lynch has reported a net profit of Rs155 m in 3QFY2000, a growth of 195% YoY. Total Income rose sharply by 158%, while expenditure grew by only 84% YoY. Profit before tax rose 204% for the 3QFY2000.

Triumph International Finance India Ltd has reported a big jump in net

Bajaj Auto Finance posts 28% jump in net

However, the over 90% jump in expenditure and a 27% jump in interest cost have pulled down the company's profits.

Crisil posts 12% jump in net

Credit Rating Information Services of India (Crisil) has posted a jump in net profits despite a 6% decline in income from operations. However, the increase in other income, the decline in depreciation and tax expenditure seems to have more than negated the adverse effect of a decline in income from operations.

Tata Finance looks for a foreign partner

Tata Finance Ltd., one of the largest non-banking financial companies (NBFC) in India, is in talks with various international companies, investment banks and foreign institutional investors (FIIs) to privately place upto 20% of its paid up equity capital. The company is expected to close the deal within 60-90 days.
