Wipro: A Muted Quarter

Wipro has announced its results for the third quarter for FY16. The company has reported a 3.1% QoQ increase in sales while net profits were flat sequentially. Here is our analysis of the results.

Performance summary

  • Consolidated net sales increased by 3.1% QoQ during the quarter. IT services revenues were up 1.4% QoQ in constant currency terms and 0.3% QoQ in US dollar terms.
  • The operating margin was down sequentially to 21.3% in 3QFY16. On an absolute basis, the operating profit decreased by 0.7% QoQ.
  • The net profit was flat sequentially due to the muted operating performance.
  • The company declared an interim dividend of Rs 5 per share. The record date for the same is 27 Jan and it will be paid out on or before 02 Feb.
