NASDAQ witnessed a decline as US infotech companies continued to witness profit warnings. This had a depressing effect on the domestic bourses. Indian software stocks continued their downward journey.

Godrej Soaps witnessed some buying on news of its demerger. Colgate also saw upward movement. However, the Tata Tea stock saw some downward pressure as tea prices are expected to weaken. By and large fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) stocks did not move significantly over the last week.
