Over the past few years, renewable energy industry trends have gathered pace worldwide, supported by policy push and rapid advances in new renewable energy technology.

With sustainability and carbon reduction at the core of its strategy, the country is playing a decisive role in defining future renewable energy sources and clean energy trends that are changing how power is produced, distributed, and consumed.

One stock that drew attention in this sector is Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy.

The company, known for its presence in the solar EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) space, is one of India's major players in renewable energy solutions. It has a global footprint, a strong order book, and a focus on both domestic and overseas markets.

Today, the stock jumped over 14%. Here's what's powering the rally.

# Solar EPC Orders Win

Shares of Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy, a leading renewable EPC, surged 14% today after the company announced that it has been declared as L1 bidder in a tender of Coal India for a turn-key EPC package for development of an 875 MW (AC) grid-connected Solar PV Project in Bikaner, Rajasthan, India.

The total value of the contract, including O&M and taxes, is Rs 34.90 billion (bn).

The company also received an order for a 50 MW AC project in Maharashtra, India, from a leading Indian Private IPP.

With these new order wins, the total value of EPC order inflow in FY26 has exceeded Rs 100.62 bn.

This can be one of the main reasons for the share price to surge.
