In March Premier Explosive secured a significant report order worth Rs 189 m for supplying defence explosives. The delivery of these explosives is expected to be completed within 5 months.
It has also received an export order worth Rs 214.5 m for defence explosives expected to be delivered in 5 months.
The government has set up two Defence Industrial Corridors in Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu to boost defence production. Additionally, India has around 194 defence tech startups that are developing innovative solutions to support country's defence sector.
Premier Explosive being a part of India's defence ecosystem will be a beneficiary.
Premier Explosive has seen a 13% drop in 2025, but has gained 22% over the past month.
The stock touched its 52-week high of Rs 909.35 on 21 June 2024 and a 52-week low of Rs 308.95 on 07 April 2025.
Premier Explosives manufactures industrials explosives and detonators. The company also provides operation and maintenance services for solid propellant plants for ISRO and DRDO projects.
It has a wide product portfolio with a monopoly in several products through which it serves its clients, including DRDO, Bharat Dynamics, Coal India, ISRO, Bharat Electricals, and Advanced Systems Laboratory. It also exports to countries like Israel, Greece, and Turkey.
Premier Explosives are India's first explosives manufacturer and global leader producing safer and eco-friendly detonators.
The company also serves the defence sector and manufactures propellants for tactical and strategic missiles like Astra, Akash, LRSAM, Agni, and Veda.
It plans to expand its product lines to supply advanced defense systems, including missiles, drones, and other technologies to the Indian Air Force and Indian Army.
