Tata Group's retailing arm and owner of the Westside chain of stores, Trent, had recently announced its results for the fourth quarter and year ended March 2005. The company continues to perform strongly on the topline front. However, the closing in competition has led to its margins bearing the brunt in the fiscal, partly owing to rise in advertising and sales promotion expenses. FY05 saw the company launching its first hypermarket store, Star India Bazaar, in Ahmedabad.
