Infosys Technologies Ltd. has announced better than expected results for the first quarter of FY2000. The company has reported a 156% YoY growth in net profits at Rs 236 m. Infosys Technologies Ltd., one of India's best known software companies, has moved up the value chain from an on-site to offshore developer, then to product development, and finally towards providing complete solutions. The company has 10 development centers and a 100% subsidiary in the United States, to develop and market software products in warehousing management.
Infosys has reported a total income of Rs 1.84 bn (up 86.9% over the corresponding period last year) for the first quarter of the current year. The company has been able to benefit from a depreciated currency, increased exports and a focus on e commerce related activities. This renewed focus of the company is likely to be a source of strong earnings growth over the years.
The company has received 19 new clients during the years. These include Amazon.com, and Value America
