Something interesting unfolded early this month. As auto sales figures rolled in nationwide, one trend stood out clearly: electric vehicles (EVs) had a standout month in June.
Combined EV sales across scooters, 3-wheelers, cars, and buses crossed three lakh units, marking a 63% year-on-year jump. That figure represented roughly 12% of overall auto sales for the month.
Two-wheelers have kept up a steady climb, and electric three-wheelers now hold a commanding lead in their segment, but it was the strong showing by electric passenger cars that truly delighted industry watchers.
Sales of over 31,000 units didn't just mark a 15% rise over May, itself a record month, but represented a striking 106% surge compared to June of last year.
Setting aside the undeniable boost from fuel price hikes triggered by the Strait of Hormuz standoff, all signs suggest that India's electric mobility journey has genuinely hit its stride.
These stocks combine EV exposure with solid fundamentals, having posted an average 3-year revenue CAGR of over 11%, a 3-year average ROE above 11%, and a net profit CAGR of more than 17%. Also note none of these are pure play EV players.
Having established a strong presence in the electric bus segment, Olectra is now expanding its product portfolio. The company is developing electric trucks and electric tippers to tap into the growing commercial EV market.
Its revenue has grown at a CAGR of 28.5%, while profit has grown 38.9% in the past three years.
Its 3-years average ROE stands at 11%.
Going forward, Olectra plans to strengthen its product lineup by introducing a new vehicle platform, which is expected to support future growth and enhance its position in India's evolving electric mobility ecosystem.

Conclusion
These stocks look attractive as they offer more than just exposure to India's fast-growing EV market. While the electric vehicle theme is gaining momentum, the companies featured in this list have also demonstrated strong business performance.
Each has delivered revenue and net profit CAGR of over 10% in recent years, along with an average return on equity (ROE) of more than 15%, indicating that they have been able to grow while generating healthy returns for shareholders.
That said, the EV opportunity alone should not be the sole reason to invest. Stock prices often reflect future expectations, making valuations an important factor to consider.
Investors should evaluate a company's fundamentals, valuations, and growth prospects before making any investment decisions.
