The Indian markets are trading with gains today, 13 August. The Nifty 50 index is trading around 24,563 points, up about 75 points. The Sensex is trading around 80,409 points, up 174 points.

The market sentiment is supported by easing inflation in India and hopes of a Federal Reserve rate cut in the US.

Key gainers on the Sensex include Tata Motors, Tata Steel, and Kotak Mahindra Bank.

Despite the market trading higher, Suzlon Energy shares are down 4%.

#1 Q1 FY26 Results

The stock of the company is down post Q1 FY26 results. The consolidated revenues from operations surged to Rs 31.17 billion (bn), up 55% year-on-year (YoY) from Rs 20.15 bn in Q1 FY25.

However, sequentially, compared to Q4 FY25, the revenues were down from Rs 37.73 bn.

Consolidated net profit rose 7% YoY in Q1 FY26 to Rs 3.24 bn, compared to Rs 3.02 bn in the same quarter last year.

The company recognised a deferred tax assets of Rs 6.3 bn last quarter, which is now unwinding, resulting in a deferred tax charge of Rs 1.34 bn in Q1 FY26.

The markets were expecting better numbers which resulted in a drop in the stock price of Suzlon Energy.

India's renewable energy growth is driven by large PSU-led auctions - signalling strong market momentum and rising demand.

Businesses are seeking firm, reliable, and affordable clean power to meet sustainability goals. Suzlon Energy's record deliveries this quarter highlight the company's strength in execution and its ability to seize opportunities as they arise.

In Q1 FY26 Suzlon Energy saw its EBITDA margin improve to 19.2% from 18.4% a year ago.

This reflects disciplined financial management, operational efficiency, and the underlying strength of the business.

The company also saw its highest-ever Q1 deliveries of 444 MW. Suzlon Energy also received orders worth 1 GW during Q1 FY26.

The demand for wind energy is expected to grow rapidly, driving the growth of Suzlon Energy. India is expected to scale its power capacity to 2,100 GW by 2047, including 400 GW from wind energy.

Suzlon Energy has a market share of 27% in the space. The company particularly benefits from being an end-to-end service provider.

It also has the highest ever domestic order book of 5.7 GW and a strong pipeline which provide a clear revenue outlook for the future.

That said, variability in policies across states concerning tariffs, power purchase agreements, and approvals creates uncertainty. The industry continues to reply on government policies and any adverse changes could negatively impact companies like Suzlon Energy.

How Shares of Suzlon Energy have Performed Recently

Over the last one month, the share price of Suzlon Energy has lost close to 8% from levels of Rs 65.44 to the current levels of Rs 60.33. In the past one year, shares of the company have lost 25%.

The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 86.04 on 12 September 2024. The stock also hit a 52-week low of Rs 46 on 7 April 2025.
