India's electric vehicle (EV) sector is growing fast due to government support, consumer demand, environmental awareness, and tech advancements.

Initiatives like the FAME scheme aim to boost EV adoption, making transportation more sustainable and innovative.

One stock that is surging in this sector is Ola Electric Mobility.

Ola Electric Mobility is a leading EV manufacturer in India, specialising manufacturing EVs and EV components, including battery cells.

Ola's share price surged 14% in one day, drawing strong investor interest.

So, what's behind this rally?

Let's take a closer look.

3 Reasons Why Ola Electric Share Price is Rising

#1 Block Deal

Ola's shares surged over 14% on 20 August, due to 0.3% equity changing hands through ten block deals. This marks the stock's fourth gain in the last five trading sessions.

#2 GST Reforms

The shares also gained as investors weighed potential GST reforms as positive for the company.

#3 Rare Earth Supply

Further, the stock rally picked up steam after China assured India it would address concerns over supplies of rare earth magnets and tunnel boring machines.

With China controlling about 90% of global rare earth output, this is crucial for automakers.

What Next?

Ola Electric's founder, Bhavish Aggarwal, shared an ambitious growth plan at the company's Sankalp event. The company aims to capture 25-30% of India's two-wheeler electric vehicle market with high margins, driven by vertical integration and new launches.

Ola Electric underwent a product transition over the past 6 months, phasing out Gen 2 scooters, increasing Gen 3 supplies and launching its first electric bike.

The company's 4680 Bharat cell has a battery life of over 15 years, offers 5 times the capacity of its competitors, and charges up to 80% in just 15 minutes.

It's also launching India's first domestically made ferrite motors, which do not rely on rare-earth magnets, ensuring supply chain stability. This motor will start being installed in Ola's vehicle from Q3 FY26 onwards, gradually.

Ola Electric has started developing ferrite motor technology at its Tamil Nadu plant, which will replace rare earth magnets used in its products.

How Ola Electric Mobility Shares Have Performed Recently

In the past five trading sessions, share price of Ola Electric Mobility has surged 29%.

However, the stock has fallen 17% over the past six-months and is down 63% over the past year.
