India's financial sector is growing rapidly, with existing companies expanding and new ones entering the market, making it more diverse and dynamic.

This sector has experienced huge growth in the past few years.

One name that stands out in this wave of growth is Tata Investment Corporation.

Tata Investment Corporation is a non-banking financial company (NBFC) registered with the Reserve Bank of India as an investment company.

The company's share price has seen upward momentum. The price surged 16% today, drawing attention among investors.

But what's powering this sudden rally?

Let's dive into the reason...

Stock Split & IPO Buzz

Shares of Tata Investment Corporation surged 14%, reaching a new 52-week high.

The sharp rally comes ahead of Tata Capital's upcoming IPO, in which Tata Investment Corporation holds a 2.1% stake, amounting to 82.9 million (m) shares.

Tata Capital is launching India's largest NBFC IPO, valued at Rs 1,380 billion (bn) with an issue size of Rs 155.1 bn, making it the fourth-largest IPO in India's history. The IPO will open on 6 October 2025 and close on 8 October 2025.

Adding to the positive momentum, Tata Investment Corporation has announced a stock split, with the record date set for 14 October 2025.

The company will split each share with a face value of Rs 10 in a 1:10 ratio in a bid to enhance liquidity and make the shares more affordable for retail investors.

The combination of the high-profile Tata Capital IPO and the upcoming stock split is driving strong interest in Tata Investment Corporations shares.

What Next?

Moving forward, Tata Investment Corporation's portfolio companies, as part of Tata Group, are planning major growth initiatives in sectors like semiconductors, electric vehicles, digital services, and finance.

Specifically, Tata Electronics is venturing into semiconductor manufacturing using 28nm technology, while Agratas is setting up large battery plants in India and the UK to support electric vehicle production.

Additionally, Tata Power is expanding its renewable energy capacity and EV charging infrastructure, with around 6,700 stations across India.

These plans are in line with the company's focus on nation building and long-term strategic bets.

Tata Investment noted that the Indian market's trend over the next 6-9 months will depend on corporate earnings performance. If earnings rebound to the projected 14% growth, India could become a highly attractive market due to strong macroeconomic fundamentals and favourable valuations.

This may also lead to a renewed inflow of investments from foreign institutional investors (FIIs).

With strong cash flows, the Tata Group is well-positioned to tap into the growing digital economy while balancing its existing and new ventures like semiconductors, and battery production.

As per-capita income rises and the group's wide presence across India expands, Tata Investment is set to profit from many future growth opportunities.
