India's digital lending industry has moved from a niche to a core part of the country's credit market.

Digital lending sanctions have grown from Rs 0.15 trillion (tn) to Rs 2.2 tn over the past five years, bringing millions of previously underserved borrowers into formal credit.

The digital personal loan book of NBFCs (Non-Banking Financial Corporations) reached Rs 1.54 tn in June 2026, up about 28% from a year earlier. Digital NBFCs accounted for 70% of personal loan sanctions by number in April-June 2026, and the average ticket size rose about 15% to Rs 18,802.

Rising smartphone use, small-ticket credit demand from first-time borrowers, and the growing role of NBFC-bank partnerships are driving this growth.

Two lenders positioned to benefit are Kissht (OnEMI Technology Solutions) and Moneyview, so let us compare them on business, growth, profitability, asset quality, and valuation.

Business Overview

OnEMI Technology Solutions (Kissht)

OnEMI Technology Solutions, popularly known as Kissht, is a technology-enabled lender designed for serving the mass market and emerging middle-class borrowers.

Founded in 2016 in Mumbai, it listed on the bourses in May 2026 after an IPO (Initial Public Offering) of Rs 9,260 million (m), of which Rs 8,500 m is fresh capital.

The company does the lending through Si Creva Capital Services, an RBI-registered NBFC (Non-Banking Financial Company). Loans are distributed via the Kissht and RING apps and over 300 retail and e-commerce partnerships.

Its core products are small-ticket personal loans and EMI-based purchase finance; however, the company has diversified into loan against property.

Kissht runs a hybrid funding model. It has both on-book loans, which are funded through its balance sheet, and off-book loans, which are funded by partner banks and NBFCs.

For the on-book loans, the company earns full interest and bears the entire credit risk, whereas for off-book loans, it services them for a fee and bears 5% of the losses (if any).

The company uses a machine-learning model to decide who gets a loan and how much. It scores the applicant on their credit score and transaction behaviour within seconds.

It also has over 7,000 field collection agents for collecting overdue payments and uses AI voice agents for early-stage collections.
