Today, 16 October 2025, the Indian stock market performed strongly with significant gains across major indices.

At the time of writing, the BSE Sensex was up 610 points, trading near 83,217, a rise of about 0.74%, while the NSE Nifty 50 was up 191 points, around 25,515, gaining 0.76%.

The markets have been buoyed by ongoing quarterly results season, positive global cues, and strong domestic liquidity.

One stock that has been rallying over the last few days is the stock of Allcargo Logistics.

Here are reasons for the same...

2 Reasons Why Allcargo Logistics Share Price is Rising

#1 WisdomTree Emerging Markets High Dividend Fund Acquires Stake

The buying on the counter came after WisdomTree Emerging Markets High Dividend Fund acquired stakes through a bulk deal.

According to a report in Moneycontrol, WisdomTree picked 6,817,024 shares (0.69% stake) at Rs 34.15 per share, for Rs 232.8 million (m).

This may have been one of the reasons the stock rallied in trade.

#2 Approval from NCLT

Allcargo Logistics has secured approval from the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) for its restructuring strategy, which involves demerging its international supply chain operations into a newly listed entity.

Under the approved scheme, the international supply chain business of Allcargo Logistics Limited will be demerged into a new listed entity, named Allcargo Global Limited.

The domestic express and contract logistics business, which is currently housed under Allcargo Gati, Gati Express & Supply Chain & Allcargo Supply Chain, respectively, will be consolidated under Allcargo Logistics Limited, which continues as the listed company.

This restructuring enables both international and domestic business to operate independently, with clearer strategic focus, dedicated management oversight, and efficient capital allocation.

It also provides a simplified structure that allows shareholders to assess and participate in each business segment directly.

This may have been another reason for the stock to gain over the last few days.

What Next?

The company believes that the de-merger as an investor-aligned entity will sharpen focus, enhance agility, and improve capital efficiency, while retaining operational synergies under the aegis of the Allcargo Group.

As per the approved scheme, shareholders of Allcargo Logistics holding shares as on the record date, will receive shares in the demerged Allcargo Global on a 1:1 basis, while continuing to hold their shares in the resulting Allcargo Logistics.

Shareholders of Allcargo Gati as on record date will receive 63 shares of Allcargo Logistics (post demerger of the international supply chain business) for every 10 shares held in Allcargo Gati.

Looking ahead, for FY26 the company plans making inroads into China, expansion of the warehouse business in South Korea, new offices in Latin America, and stronger business growth across Germany, USA, Japan, and many other key markets.

Diversifying its service offerings, Allcargo Logistics is focusing on new products such as e-commerce, while reinforcing its capabilities to grow core products.

In FY26, the other focus remains on bolstering global supply chains.
