The Indian stock market indices are trading lower on 28 October 2025, driven by profit booking after a sharp rally in the previous session. Key sectors contributing to the decline include consumer goods, financial services, banking, and technology stocks.

The BSE Sensex is trading with losses of 444 points at 84,335 points, while the NSE Nifty is trading with losses of 111 points at 25,854 points.

One stock that is rallying despite a weakness in the markets is Sai Silks (Kalamandir); let's tell you a reason for the same.

#1 Q2 FY26 Results

Sai Silks (Kalamandir) shares have been on a winning streak, soaring nearly 6.4% as investors cheer the company's stellar Q2 FY26 performance. The rally is backed by strong numbers that reflect robust operational growth, improving profitability, and solid consumer demand.

In the second quarter of FY26, the company reported a 27.9% year-over-year (YoY) jump in revenue to Rs 4,443.3 million (m) compared to Rs 3,473 m in the same period last year.

This impressive top-line growth highlights surging demand across its retail channels and the company's deepening presence in India's ethnic wear market.

Operationally, EBITDA grew 30% YoY to 720.1 m, up from Rs 553.8 m in the same period last year.

The EBITDA margins improved to 16.2%, up from 15.9% in the same period last year.

Sai Silks (Kalamandir) reported a 68.6% year-over-year jump in its consolidated net profit, to Rs 400.8 m, up from Rs 237.7 m in the same period last year.

Sai Silks (Kalamandir) half-yearly financials for the period ending September 2025 also showed a surge.

Revenue from the operations surged 33.9% to Rs 8,233.5 m compared to Rs 6,146.1 m in the same period last year.

EITDA margins stood at 15.6%, up from 12.09% in H1 FY25.

The company reported a net profit of Rs 701.4 m compared to Rs 258.6 m in the same period last year.

  Quarter Ended Half Year Ended
(Rs in million) 25-Sep 24-Sep Change % 25-Sep 24-Sep Change %
Revenue from operations 4443.30 3473.00 27.93 8233.50 6146.10 33.96
EBITDA 720.10 553.80 30.02 1291.40 746.00 73.10
Net Profit 400.80 237.70 68.61 701.40 258.60 171.22

This could be the main reason for the share price to rise.

What Next?

Moving forward, Sai Silks is set to aggressively expand its presence with plans to open over 100 stores pan-India by FY-27, building on its current base of 74 stores in 22 cities.

The success of this expansion plan could potentially solidify Sai Silks Kalamandir's position as a dominant player in the Indian ethnic wear retail sector.

Sai Silks (Kalamandir) will also adopt an omni-channel sales strategy blending online and offline expenses.

Additionally, the company aims to boost its EBITDA margins to 13-14%, focusing on operational efficiency and profitability.

As the textile and retail sector continues to evolve in India, Sai Silks Kalamandir's strong financial results position it well for future growth and market opportunities, although broader economic trends and industry dynamics will also play a role in shaping its long-term prospects.
