Is India Collapsing after Demonetisation

On November 9, 2016, the old Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 Indian bank notes ceased to be legal tender. The government asked the Indian populace to stop transacting with these notes. And to declare all the notes they had in these denominations by December 10, 2016. With this it aimed to curb the black money prevalent in society and take stock of all the fake notes in the system.

This was approximately 40/50/60 days ago... Cut to the present times... Daily wage workers are out of work, old men and women are queueing up outside banks in the sweltering heat, black money is still being found in large quantities across the country, and note, in the new pink notes of Rs 2,000, not the old ones.

Ex Prime Minister Manmohan Singh predicts a 2% decline in GDP... Amartya Sen says demonetization was 'neither intelligent nor humane', and the aam aadmi - atleast those not singing Narendra Modi's praises - are calling this an attack on democracy.
