The benchmark indices continued their downward momentum, ended the session in red.

Indian equity markets indices extended the risk-off sentiment, with benchmarks trading cautiously amid US President Donald Trump's firm stance on the tariff deadline.

At the closing bell on Wednesday, the BSE Sensex  closed lower by 288 points (down 0.3%).

Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty closed 88 points lower (down 0.3%).

Tata Steel, Asian Paints, UltraTech Cement among the top gainers today

Bajaj Finserv, L&T, HDFC Bank on the hand, were among the top losers today.

The BSE MidCap index ended 0.2% lower and BSE SmallCap index ended 0.2% lower.

Sectoral indices were trading mixed on Wednesday with stocks in metal sector and telecommunication sector were witnessing buying. Meanwhile stocks in media sector and financial service sector witnessed selling pressure.

Top buzzing stocks today

Ellenbarrie Industrials share price will be in focus today.

Shares of Ellenbarrie Industrial Gases dropped 7% on Wednesday, with investors booking profits a day after its debut.

The company plans to use the IPO funds to boosts its financial and operational strength. Rs 2.1 billion (bn) will go towards debt repayment, Rs 1.1 bn for setting up a new production unit 220 TPD air separation unit, and the rest for general business purposes.

CLN Energy shares will also be a top buzzing stock.

CLN Energy Limited (CLN) has announced a significant milestone in the lithium-ion battery supply project for Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), one of India's top telecom service providers.

The supply's first phase, which was supposed to be finished by June 2025, was shipped out without incident. The second phase, which CLN is currently actively working on, is expected to be finished by the 14 July 2025, deadline.

Ceigall India Wins Ayodhya Bypass Contract

A subsidiary of Ceigall India Limited has obtained a Rs 11.9 billion (bn) road project from NHAI to construct a 35.4 km, 4/6 lane northern Ayodhya bypass in Uttar Pradesh.

The project consists of Part 1 north of NH-27 from km 0+000 to km 30+400 (beginning close to current km 112+540 and ending at km 139+928 of NH-27) and Part 2 south of NH-27 from km 0+000 to km 5+000. As part of NHDP Phase-VII, the project will be carried out using the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM).

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) awarded Ceigall India a Letter of Award (LOA) in March of this year for the construction of a six-lane greenfield southern Ludhiana bypass.

The project is a component of Punjab's Ludhiana-Ajmer Economic Corridor and was awarded under the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM). The contract calls for building a 25.24-kilometer section between the Delhi-Katra Motorway (NE 5) near Village Ballowal and NH44 near Village Rajgarh.

With a bid of Rs 9.2 bn, Ceigall India won the southern Ludhiana bypass project, which has a 24-month completion deadline. The project is expected to cost Rs 8.7 bn.

Biocon To File for Generic Patent

Since Novo's patent protection on semaglutide is about to expire early next year, Biocon is joining the Canadian weight-loss medication market, aiming for the same market as big generic manufacturers like Sandoz.

Novo will keep its patents in the US, Europe, and Japan, but it will lose the exclusive rights to its medication in many markets starting in 2026, including India where the patent expires in April of next year.

By April of next year, Novo's exclusive rights to semaglutide will expire in many markets, including India, and globally except from the US, Europe, and Japan in 2026. This gives other businesses, like Biocon, the chance to sell generic versions in Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and India.

The company plans to sell its GLP-1 therapies in several countries, including Brazil, Mexico, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, and India.

Dev IT Secures Order from Alivus Lifesciences

Dev Information Technology (DEVIT) saw a 2.33%, after announcing that it had secured large orders from Alivus Lifesciences worth roughly Rs 0.4 bn.

A substantial agreement for Microsoft Select Plus perpetual licenses worth Rs 0.4 bn has been reached between Dev IT and Alivus Lifesciences.

Dev IT showcased its expertise in managing complex IT needs and digital transformation by helping Alivus Lifesciences optimize its Microsoft licensing model.

Additionally, DEVIT obtained a direct order for a suite of enterprise software solutions from Alivus Lifesciences for Rs 80 lakh. This highlights the company's capacity to provide integrated, multi-product IT solutions catered to business needs and includes products from Microsoft, Zoho, Adobe, and TeamViewer.

This deal strengthens Dev IT's position as a trusted tech partner, especially in the pharmaceutical sector. Dev IT focuses on digital modernization with scalable solutions and customers-centric approach.
