Asian markets traded mixed on Wednesday amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.

US stock market ended lower on Tuesday, weighed down by losses in semiconductor stocks.

Speaking of stock markets, Tanushree Banerjee, Research Analyst at Equitymaster, highlights that tollbooth monopoly stocks are facing rising regulatory risks that could weaken their strong moats.

She notes that changes like market coupling are challenging platforms such as IEX. The main risk is not earnings, but valuation de-rating due to reduced pricing power.

3i Infotech Wins UAE IT Consulting Contract

3i Infotech Limited has received an international IT consulting services contract from Vedant Consultancy FZ LLC, UAE.

Under this 12-month contract, effective from May 1, 2026, to April 30, 2027, the company will provide consulting and implementation services in Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Robotics, and Process and Factory Automation.

The project will also involve working with leading automation platforms such as UiPath, Blue Prism, Pega Platform, and Datamatics TruBot.

The total value of the contract is AED 17,651,620 (approximately Rs. 458.5 million), excluding applicable taxes.

Ceigall Advances Major Highway Infrastructure Projects

Ceigall India Limited, one of India's leading infrastructure EPC companies, has achieved an important milestone by receiving the Appointed Date for three highway projects with a total value of Rs 40.5 billion. This approval allows the company to officially start construction work on these projects in Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh.

The three projects include the construction of the Varanasi-Ranchi-Kolkata Greenfield Highway Package 11, a six-lane access-controlled highway from Donoreshan village to Bongabar village in Jharkhand, valued at Rs 16.56 billion. The company will also build Package 12 of the same highway, a six-lane Greenfield Road from Bongabar village to Lepo village in Jharkhand, with a project value of Rs 13.05 billion. In addition, Ceigall India will construct the Indore-Ujjain Greenfield Highway, a four-lane access-controlled highway in Madhya Pradesh, valued at Rs 10.89 billion. All three projects will be executed under the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) model, with the two Jharkhand projects forming part of the Bharatmala Pariyojana.

The Appointed Date for all three projects is 6 July 2026, marking the official start of the construction phase. Together, these projects add Rs 40.5 billion to Ceigall India's execution pipeline, strengthening its order book and reinforcing its position as a key player in India's road infrastructure sector. The projects are expected to improve regional connectivity, support economic development, and further enhance the company's track record of delivering large-scale highway projects on time.
