Indian benchmark indices traded positive throughout the session and ultimately closed green.

Indian equity benchmarks indices, Sensex and Nifty50 ended the lacklustre session with negligible gains as investors monitored the geopolitical situation in West Asia.

At the closing bell on Thursday, the BSE Sensex  closed 273 points higher (up 0.3%)

Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty closed 67 points higher (up 0.3%)

Adani Ports, Bharat Elec, Axis Bank were the top gainers today.

M&M, Tech Mahindra, SBI on the other hand, were among the top losers today.

The BSE 150 Midcap index is trading 0.3% lower and the BSE 250 SmallCap index is trading 0.8% lower.

Sectoral indices were trading mixed on Thursday with IT sector and metal sector witnessed buying. Meanwhile, stocks in insurance sector and realty sector witnesses selling pressure.

Speaking of stock markets, Tanushree Banerjee, Research Analyst at Equitymaster, highlights that tollbooth monopoly stocks are facing rising regulatory risks that could weaken their strong moats.

She notes that changes like market coupling are challenging platforms such as IEX. The main risk is not earnings, but valuation de-rating due to reduced pricing power.

Top buzzing stocks today

M&M share price will be in focus today.

Shares of Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) came into focus after the company reported its Q1 business update.

M&M reported a 33.6% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit attributable to the owners, which rose to Rs 54.55 bn for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, compared with Rs 40.83 bn in the corresponding quarter last year.

Asian Paints share price will be in focus today.

Shares of Asian Paints came into focus after the company reported its Q1 business update.

Asian Paints reported a 40% year-on-year (Y-o-Y) increase in net profit to Rs 15.39 bn for the quarter, supported by price hikes of around 12% during the period. Revenue from operations rose 18% Y-o-Y to Rs 105.21 bn.

Redington Q1FY27 Results

Shares of Redington came into focus after the company reported its Q1 FY27 results.

Redington reported a record revenue of Rs 349.66 bn for the quarter ended June 2026 (Q1 FY27), marking a 34.5% year-on-year (YoY) increase from Rs 260.02 bn in the corresponding period last year.

Consolidated profit after tax attributable to shareholders surged 76.5% YoY to Rs 4.86 bn, compared with Rs 2.75 bn in Q1 FY26.

The strong earnings performance was broad-based across businesses and key markets. India led the growth, with revenue rising 63% and profit after tax increasing 60% YoY, driven by large enterprise deal execution, higher PC realisations amid industry-wide memory supply constraints, premiumisation in the mobility segment, and sustained demand for cloud and cybersecurity solutions.

Revenue from the Middle East and Africa business grew 15% YoY, supported by cloud- and cybersecurity-led offerings despite continued geopolitical uncertainty during the quarter.

Across business segments, the Software Solutions Group (SSG) recorded 52% YoY growth, aided by rising adoption of cloud, cybersecurity, AI-enabled solutions, software-led engagements, and subscription-based models. The Endpoint Solutions Group (ESG) grew 35%, the Mobility Solutions Group (MSG) expanded 21%, and the Technology Solutions Group (TSG) posted 50% growth.

Bajaj Housing Finance Q1 Results

Shares of Bajaj Housing Finance came into focus after the company reported its Q1 business update.

Bajaj Housing Finance reported a 22.6% year-on-year (YoY) increase in net profit to Rs 7.15 bn for the June quarter (Q1 FY27).

Interest income rose 14.6% YoY to Rs 28.56 bn, while total revenue from operations increased 17.2% to Rs 30.63 bn. Net interest income (NII) grew 9% to Rs 9.68 bn during the quarter.

Assets under management (AUM) expanded 24% YoY to Rs 1,496.24 bn as of June 30, 2026. Asset quality remained stable, with gross NPA at 0.29% and net NPA at 0.12%, compared with 0.30% and 0.13%, respectively, a year earlier. The provisioning coverage ratio on Stage 3 assets stood at nearly 59%.

Pre-provisioning operating profit increased 19% YoY to Rs 9.45 bn, while disbursements grew 33% to Rs 195.09 bn during the quarter.
