Asian markets are trading firmly higher on Friday morning, extending Wall Street's technology-led rebound.

US stocks staged a powerful rebound on Thursday, recovering from Wednesday's Fed-day sell-off as Microsoft's blockbuster earnings sparked a broad-based rally in technology stocks.

Tata Steel Q1FY27 Performance

Shares of Tata Steel came into focus after the company reported its Q1 FY27 results.

Tata Steel reported an 11.58% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 23.18 billion for the quarter ended June 30, compared with Rs 20.78 billion in the corresponding quarter last year, according to an exchange filing dated July 30. Higher steel prices helped offset a challenging operating environment marked by elevated energy costs.

On a sequential basis, however, net profit declined from Rs 29.26 billion reported in the March quarter of FY26.

The Tata Group company's revenue from operations rose 14.32% year-on-year to Rs 607.94 billion in the June quarter, up from Rs 531.78 billion a year earlier. Revenue stood at Rs 632.70 billion in the March quarter of FY26.

Consolidated EBITDA increased 25% year-on-year to Rs 93.70 billion during the quarter. EBITDA per tonne improved to Rs 12,898, compared with Rs 11,410 in the January-March quarter.

Bajaj Finance Q1 FY27 Performance

Shares of Bajaj Finance came into focus after the company reported its Q1 FY27 results

Bajaj Finance reported a 27.37% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 59.86 billion in Q1 FY27, compared with Rs 47 billion in the corresponding quarter last year.

Revenue from operations rose 19.58% YoY to Rs 231.65 billion, supported by strong lending activity and growth in the company's asset base.

The consolidated results include the performance of its wholly owned subsidiaries, Bajaj Housing Finance (BHFL) and Bajaj Financial Securities (BFinserc), as well as associate companies Snapwork Technologies and Pennant Technologies.

Net interest income (NII) grew 23% YoY to Rs 125.71 billion, up from Rs 102.28 billion in Q1 FY26. The company booked 16.13 million new loans during the quarter, compared with 13.49 million a year earlier, reflecting 20% growth in loan originations.

Loan losses and provisions stood at Rs 19.93 billion, marginally higher than Rs 19.69 billion in Q1 FY26. The quarter included Rs 2.96 billion of prudent management and macroeconomic provisions. Excluding these additional provisions, loan losses and provisions declined 14% YoY to Rs 16.97 billion.

Assets under management (AUM) increased 24% YoY to Rs 5,469.44 billion as of June 30, 2026, compared with Rs 4,414.50 billion a year earlier. During the quarter, the company added Rs 369.69 billion to its AUM.

Asset quality remained strong, with the gross non-performing asset (GNPA) ratio improving to 0.96% from 1.03% a year earlier. The net non-performing asset (NNPA) ratio declined to 0.39% from 0.50% in the corresponding period last year, while the provisioning coverage ratio on Stage 3 assets stood at 60%.
