Indian benchmark indices traded negative throughout the session and ultimately closed red.

Indian equity benchmarks indices, Sensex and Nifty50 snapped a four-day winning streak as bank, financial, and IT shares weighed.

At the closing bell on Tuesday, the BSE Sensex  closed 210 points lower (down 0.2%)

Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty closed 159 points lower (down 0.6%)

Trent, Bajaj Finance, Bharat Elec are the top gainers today.

NTPC, HUL, HDFC Bank on the other hand, were among the top losers today.

The BSE 150 Midcap index is trading 0.03% higher and the BSE 250 SmallCap index is trading 0.2% higher.

Sectoral indices were trading mixed on Tuesday with IT sector and realty sector witnessed selling pressure. Meanwhile, stocks metal and capital goods witnessed buying.

Speaking of stock markets, Tanushree Banerjee, Research Analyst at Equitymaster, highlights that tollbooth monopoly stocks are facing rising regulatory risks that could weaken their strong moats.

She notes that changes like market coupling are challenging platforms such as IEX. The main risk is not earnings, but valuation de-rating due to reduced pricing power.

Top buzzing stocks today

Greave Cotton share price will be in focus today.

Shares of Greaves Cotton came into focus after the company reported its Q1 FY27 results.

The firm's consolidated revenue for Q1FY27 stood at Rs 9.74 bn, up 31% year-on-year (YoY).

UPL share price will be in focus today.

Shares of UPL came into focus after the company reported its Q1 FY27 results.

UPL reported Q1 FY27 revenue of Rs 101.81 bn, up 10.5% year-on-year (YoY), with growth driven by favourable currency movements and better realisations, even as volumes declined 3% during the quarter.

KEI Industries Q1 FY27 Results

KEI Industries reported a 40.05% year-on-year (YoY) increase in Q1FY27 profit after tax (PAT) to Rs 2.74 bn, compared with Rs 1.96 bn in the corresponding quarter last year.

Revenue from operations rose 23% YoY to Rs 31.85 bn in Q1FY27 from Rs 25.90 bn a year earlier.

EBITDA increased 39.57% YoY to Rs 4.15 bn, supported by improved operating efficiency and a better product mix. As a result, the EBITDA margin expanded by 155 basis points (bps) to 13.04%, compared with 11.49% in Q1FY26.

The company said the quarter's performance was driven by broad-based demand across its Wires & Cables business. The domestic Wires & Cables segment recorded a healthy 29.31% YoY revenue growth, aided by sustained demand and operational improvements.

GE Shipping Q1 FY27 Results

GE Shipping reported a Q1FY27 profit of Rs 13.09 bn, up from Rs 5.05 bn in the corresponding quarter last year.

Revenue rose 66.9% year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 20.05 bn, compared with Rs 12.02 bn in Q1FY26.

EBITDA nearly doubled to Rs 13.38 bn from Rs 6.43 bn a year earlier. Consequently, the EBITDA margin expanded to 66.7% from 53.5% in the year-ago quarter.

KP Energy Expands Renewable Energy Portfolio

KP Energy said it has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) for the development of a 100 MW grid-connected wind power project under the independent power producer (IPP) segment.

The PPA was executed pursuant to the Letter of Intent (LoI) issued by GUVNL on March 30, 2026, under Wind Tender Phase X, following approval of the tariff and PPA by the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC).

With this agreement, KP Energy's cumulative IPP portfolio has crossed 250 MW, strengthening its presence in the renewable energy sector.

The project is scheduled to commence power supply by 30 July 2028, which is 24 months from the execution of the PPA. Under the agreement, the company will supply power at an approved tariff of Rs 3.435 per unit for a period of 25 years.
