Asian markets traded on a mixed note on Thursday, mirroring the overnight performance on Wall Street, where the Dow Jones advanced while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite ended lower.

Wall Street futures traded mixed after the Dow Jones Industrial Average ended at a record high, with investors shifting their attention to the next batch of corporate earnings.

Biocon Q1FY27 Performance

Shares of Biocon came into focus after the company reported its Q1 FY27 results.

Biocon reported a strong performance for Q1FY27, with consolidated net profit rising more than four times year-on-year, driven by strong growth in biosimilars and generics, improved profitability in the biopharma segment, and lower finance costs following balance sheet strengthening measures.

The Bengaluru-based biopharmaceutical company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 1.41 billion in Q1FY27, compared with Rs 0.31 bn in the same period last year, registering a growth of 355% YoY.

Revenue from operations increased 10% YoY to Rs 43.36 bn, while EBITDA rose 7% to Rs 9.02 bn.

The growth was led by the biopharma segment, where revenue increased 17% YoY to Rs 36.15 bn. Biosimilars revenue grew 16% YoY to Rs 28.55 bn, supported by continued momentum across key markets. Generics revenue increased 21% YoY to Rs 7.60 bn, driven by new product launches and business growth.

Improved profitability in the biopharma business and reduced finance costs helped Biocon deliver a significant improvement in earnings during the quarter.

Navin Fluorine Q1 FY27 Performance

Shares of Navin Fluorine came into focus after the company reported its Q1 FY27 results.

Navin Fluorine International, one of India's leading speciality fluorochemicals manufacturers, reported a strong performance in Q1FY27, with consolidated net profit more than doubling year-on-year, supported by robust revenue growth and improved operating performance.

The company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 2.43 bn for the June quarter, up 108% YoY from Rs 1.17 bn in the same quarter last year. On a sequential basis, profit increased 14.4% from Rs 2.13 bn reported in the March quarter.

Revenue from operations rose 44.1% YoY to Rs 10.45 bn from Rs 7.25 bn, while it increased 11.5% QoQ from Rs 9.38 bn, driven by strong business momentum.

Including other income, total revenue stood at Rs 10.80 bn compared with Rs 7.39 bn in the previous year and Rs 9.55 bn in the preceding quarter.

At the operating level, EBITDA increased 72% YoY to Rs 3.57 bn from Rs 2.07 bn, while it grew 11.2% QoQ from Rs 3.21 bn. EBITDA margin expanded by 566 basis points YoY to 34.2%, reflecting improved operational efficiency.

Aurobindo Pharma Q1 FY27 Performance

Shares of Aurobindo Pharma came into focus after the company reported its Q1 FY27 results.

Aurobindo Pharma reported a strong performance for Q1FY27, with consolidated net profit increasing 25.2% year-on-year, supported by double-digit growth across key markets, improved operating performance, and new product launches in the US.

The company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 10.32 bn in Q1FY27, compared with Rs 8.24 bn in the same quarter last year. Revenue from operations increased 16.3% YoY to a record Rs 91.50 bn, making it the company's highest-ever quarterly revenue.

Operating EBITDA, excluding forex impact and other income, rose 20% YoY to Rs 19.24 bn, while EBITDA margin expanded by 60 basis points to 21%.

Growth was driven by strong performance across major markets, with Europe revenue increasing 25.6% YoY to Rs 29.37 bn, Growth Markets revenue rising 37.7% YoY to Rs 10.63 bn, and US business revenue growing 8.1% YoY to Rs 37.70 bn, supported by volume growth and new product launches. Improved operational efficiency and strong market demand helped Aurobindo Pharma deliver its highest-ever quarterly revenue and profit.
