The benchmark indices continued their downward momentum, ended the session in red.

Indian equity markets indices Senex and Nifty snapped their six-day winning streak owing to profit-taking in banking, FMCG and metal stocks ahead of the US Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell's speech at the Jackson Hole Symposium later tonight.

At the closing bell on Friday, the BSE Sensex  closed lower by 143 points (down 0.9%).

Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty closed 214 points lower (down 0.8%).

M&M, Maruti Suzuki, Bharat Elec among the top gainers today.

Asian Paints, Ultra Tech Cement, Tata Steel on the hand, were among the top losers today.

The BSE MidCap index ended 0.2% lower and BSE SmallCap index ended 0.3% lower.

Sectoral indices are trading mixed on Friday with stocks in telecommunication sector and healthcare sector witnessed buying. Meanwhile, stocks in metal sector and banking sector witnessed selling pressure.

Top buzzing stocks today

Vodafone Idea share price will be in focus today.

Shares of Vodafone Idea (Vi) surged by almost 10% following the release of a report indicating that the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) would consider a proposal for relief for the telecom giant.

PMO received an informal note from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) suggesting some relief options for the indebted telecom company (Vi), according to a report.

Apollo Microsystems shares will also be a top buzzing stock.

Shares of Apollo Microsystems surged 13% after the company has been declared the lowest bidder for orders worth Rs 0.3 bn from DRDO and defence PSUs.

Increased government spending, new contracts, and an emphasis on domestic manufacturing have all contributed to the strong growth of defence-related stocks.

Enviro Infra Acquires Vento Power

Enviro Infra Engineers Ltd announced that Vento Power Infra Pvt Ltd had been purchased by its subsidiary EIE Renewables Pvt Ltd from PTC India Financial Services Ltd for approximately Rs 1.2 bn in cash.

According to an exchange filing, the acquisition was finalised on 20 August 2025 and grants Enviro Infra complete ownership of the target business, which creates renewable energy projects.

With a tariff of 4.1 per unit over 18 years, Vento Power Infra, which was incorporated in 2015, is building a 40 MW solar power project in Odisha's Bolangir district.

The agreement, according to Enviro Infra, is in line with its long-term plan to diversify into sustainable and renewable energy.

R Systems Acquires Novigo Solutions

R Systems International Ltd.'s shares came in focus after the company announced that it had reached a final deal to buy Novigo Solutions, a company that specialises in intelligent automation and low-code/no-code (LCNC) development.

According to an exchange filing by R Systems, the transaction's upfront cash consideration is Rs 4 bn, and there is also a stock consideration tied to future EBITDA achievement. According to the statement, R Systems will see an increase in earnings per share (EPS) from the first year of the acquisition.

With Rs 20.6 bn in revenue and Rs 3.8 bn in EBITDA, the acquisition, according to the company, establishes a global powerhouse in digital product engineering services that provides engineering, deployment, and management of enterprise-scale fleets of AI agents under a single, regulated platform.

R Systems' acquisition of Novigo Solutions will combine R Systems' OptimaAI Suite with Novigo's automation practice and Microsoft Copilot expertise. This move will expand R Systems' presence in the Middle East and strengthen its delivery capabilities in Bengaluru and tier-2 cities like Mangalore.

Texmaco Rail Wins Wagon Order

Texmaco Rail & Engineering shares came in focus after the announcement that it had obtained a supply order from Leap Grain Rail Logistics for Rs 103.16 crore.

Delivery of the order, which calls for the supply of BVCM brake vans and BCBFG waggons, is expected to be finished in ten months.

One of the major participants in India's railway and infrastructure industry is Texmaco Rail & Engineering (TEXMACO), a publicly traded company under the Adventz Group. Freight Cars, InfraRail & Green Energy, and InfraElectrical are the company's three main business segments.

Rolling stock, locomotive parts, hydro-mechanical equipment, railroad infrastructure, bridges, and steel structures are among the company's specialities. Additionally, it is one of Indian Railways' top suppliers of goods cars.
