Domestic PV dispatches rose to a record 439,309 units in August from 321,901 units a year earlier, according to data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (Siam) on Tuesday.

In contrast, PV exports declined to 68,230 units from 82,246 units in August last year. The export data excludes Tata Motors, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar Land Rover and Volvo, as Siam does not receive their monthly export figures.
