The Board was supposed to meet today to consider the fourth interim dividend for FY25.

Adani Enterprises Launches QIP

Adani Enterprises Limited, the flagship firm of Billionaire Gautam Adani, 9 October launched the first tranche of its qualified institutional placement (QIP) offering to raise as much as US$ 500 million (m), with the intention of launching a second QIP in the coming months to raise more funds.

In May, the Adani Enterprises board approved a total fundraising of Rs 166 bn, or approximately US$ 2 bn.

To be sure, while the QIP launched on October 9 has a base size of US$ 500 m, the company could raise a bigger amount using a green shoe option, adding that any additional fundraising will depend on investor demand.

The offering already has a strong investor demand, but the green shoe is a discretionary option for the company to exercise and they may choose not to do so right now and raise additional funds through another QIP in the next three to four months.

Once approved by shareholders an equity fundraising resolution is valid for 12 months and a company can raise the total amount through multiple QIPs or a mix of various fundraising routes.

While the company was planning to launch the share sale later in the month, plans were advanced due to the escalation of conflict in the Middle East and its impact on global equity flows.

Britannia & Bel Group Launches Cheese Factory

Two years after Britannia Industries signed a joint venture with Bel Group, the joint venture (JV) has inaugurated its cheese factory in India in Ranjangaon, Maharashtra. This factory, which has seen an investment of Rs 2.2 bn from the JV, will produce Britannia The Laughing Cow products.

The new Greenfield factory is integrated within Britannia's existing dairy production facility. It has a current capacity to produce 6,000 tons of natural cheese varieties like cheddar and mozzarella a year, and 10,000 tons of processed cheese products a year, like cheese slices, cubes, blocks, etc.

The plant produces nearly 4 lakh litres of cow's milk daily from over 3,000 farmers in Pune and surrounding areas.

The cheddar cheese being produced in the factory will also allow the company to innovate and create products as per the needs of the Indian consumer.

Britannia and Bel Foods entered into a joint venture in December 2022, where Bel acquired a 49% stake in Britannia's wholly-owned subsidiary, Britannia Dairy Private Limited, which was then renamed Britannia Bel Foods Private Ltd.
