Indian Stock Market Updates January 27, 2021

AKZO NOBEL Share Price Down by 5%; BSE 500 Index Down 1.2%

AKZO NOBEL share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 2,416.

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 18,692 (down 1.2%).

Among the top losers in the BSE 500 Index today are AKZO NOBEL (down 5.5%) and KANSAI NEROLAC (down 6.3%).

CYIENT (up 14.0%) and MMTC (up 7.6%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, AKZO NOBEL has moved up from Rs 2,013 to Rs 2,416, registering a gain of Rs 403 (up 20.0%)..

The BSE 500 has moved up from 15,797 to 18,692, registering a gain of 2,895 points (up 18.3%) during the last 12 months.

The top buzzing stocks among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were ADANI GREEN ENERGY (up 425.5%), LAURUS LABS (up 360.1%) and DIXON TECHNOLOGIES (up 241.3%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 48,387 (down 1.4%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are TECH MAHINDRA (up 2.6%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are ITC and L&T.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 14,238 (down 1.5%). WIPRO (up 2.4%) and TECH MAHINDRA (up 2.4%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 41,115 to 48,387, registering a gain of 7,272 points (up 15.96%).

AKZO NOBEL Financial Update...

AKZO NOBEL net profit down at Rs 540 million for the quarter ended March 2020, compared to a loss of Rs 770 million a year ago. Net Sales declined 20.0% to Rs 5.8 billion during the period as against Rs 7.3 billion in January-March 2019.

For the year ended March 2019, AKZO NOBEL reported 3.5% increase in net profit to Rs 2.1 billion compared to net profit of Rs 2.0 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 4.5% to Rs 29 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of AKZO NOBEL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 43.6x.
