BHEL Plunges 4%; BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index Down 1.4%

BHEL share price has plunged 4% and is presently trading at Rs 250.7.

Meanwhile, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index is at 63,285.5 (down 1.4%).

Among the top losers in the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index today are ABB (down 2.4%) and GRINDWELL NORTON (down 2.0%).

Honeywell Automation (up 0.6%) and Lakshmi Machine (up 0.3%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, BHEL has moved up from Rs 210.6 to Rs 250.7, registering a gain of Rs 40.1 (up 19.0%).

On the other hand, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index has moved down from 64,158.5 to 63,285.5, registering a loss of 1.4% during the last 12 months.

The top losers among the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index stocks during this same period were SKF India (down 57.4%), Siemens (down 51.4%) and Carborundum Universal (down 35.4%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 82,892.4 (down 0.4%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Bajaj Finance (down 3.0%) and Indusind Bank (down 2.9%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Eternal Ltd and Tata Steel.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 25,469.9 (down 0.5%). Indusind Bank and Bajaj Finance are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 77,042.8 to 82,892.4, registering a gain of 5,849.6 points (up 7.6%).

BHEL Financial Update...

BHEL net profit grew 221.3% YoY to Rs 3,742 million for the quarter ended December 2025, compared to a profit of Rs 1,164 million a year ago. Net sales rose 16.4% to Rs 84,731 million during the period as against Rs 72,771 million in October-December 2024.

For the year ended March 2025, BHEL reported 89.2% increase in net profit to Rs 5,339 million compared to net profit of Rs 2,822 million during FY24. Revenue of the company grew 18.3% to Rs 237,877 million during FY25.

The current Price to earnings ratio of BHEL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 114.9.
