CITY UNION BANK at All Time High; BSE BANKEX Index Up 0.3%

CITY UNION BANK share price has hit an all-time high at Rs 220 (up 1.2%).

Meanwhile, the BSE BANKEX Index is at 34,050 (up 0.3%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE BANKEX Index today are CITY UNION BANK (up 1.2%) and HDFC BANK (up 0.8%).

YES BANK (down 0.2%) and SBI (down 0.8%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, CITY UNION BANK has moved up from Rs 168 to Rs 220, registering a gain of Rs 51 (up 30.4%).

The BSE BANKEX has moved up from 29,594 to 34,050, registering a gain of 4,456 points (up 15.1%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE BANKEX Index stocks during this same period were AXIS BANK (up 49.8%), ICICI BANK (up 41.9%) and CITY UNION BANK (up 30.4%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 39,057 (up 0.2%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are INDUSIND BANK (up 1.3%), NTPC (up 1.2%) and HDFC BANK (up 0.8%). Other gainers include BAJAJ AUTO (up 0.7%) and TATA MOTORS DVR (up 0.7%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are HDFC and HDFC BANK.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,677 . The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include INDUSIND BANK (up 0.8%), ZEE ENTERTAINMENT (up 0.6%) and AXIS BANK (up 0.5%). Other gainers include ADANI PORTS & SEZ (up 0.5%) and ITC (up 0.4%).

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 35,548 to 39,057, registering a gain of 3,509 points (up 9.9%).

CITY UNION BANK Financial Update...

CITY UNION BANK net profit down at Rs 2 billion for the quarter ended March 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 2 billion a year ago. Operating income rose 1.9% to Rs 9.8 billion during the period as against Rs 9.7 billion in January-March 2018.

For the year ended March 2018, CITY UNION BANK reported 17.7% increase in net profit to Rs 5.9 billion compared to net profit of Rs 5.0 billion during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 7.2% to Rs 34 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of CITY UNION BANK, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 21.4x.
