HDFC BANK Share Price Up by 6%; BSE BANKEX Index Up 4.2%

HDFC BANK share price has zoomed 6% and is presently trading at Rs 1,573.
Meanwhile, the BSE BANKEX Index is at 39,186 (up 4.2%).
Among the top Gainers in the BSE BANKEX Index today is HDFC BANK (up 6.2%).
Over the last one year, HDFC BANK has moved up from Rs 1,236 to Rs 1,573, registering a gain of Rs 337 (up 27.0%).
On the other hand, the BSE BANKEX has moved up from 35,264 to 39,186, registering a gain of 3,922 points (up 11.0%) during the last 12 months.
The top buzzing stocks among the BSE BANKEX Index stocks during this same period were HDFC BANK (up 27.0%), ICICI BANK (up 18.1%) and KOTAK MAHINDRA BANK (up 13.2%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?
The BSE Sensex is at 50,022 (up 2.9%).
The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are HDFC BANK (up 6.2%), L&T (up 5.3%) and SBI (up 4.8%). Other gainers include BAJAJ FINANCE (up 4.4%) and HDFC (up 4.2%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are POWER GRID and SBI.
In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 14,700 (up 2.6%). The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include L&T (up 7.0%), TATA MOTORS (up 6.7%) and HDFC BANK (up 5.2%). Other gainers include SBI (up 4.8%) and UPL (up 4.7%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.
Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 41,199 to 50,022, registering a gain of 8,823 points (up 21.37%).
HDFC BANK Financial Update...
HDFC BANK net profit stood at Rs 88 billion for the quarter ended December 2020, compared to a profit of Rs 74 billion a year ago. Operating income rose 2.4% to Rs 300.8 billion during the period as against Rs 293.7 billion in October-December 2019.
For the year ended March 2020, HDFC BANK reported 22.5% increase in net profit to Rs 272.1 billion compared to net profit of Rs 222.2 billion during FY19.
Revenue of the company grew 16.2% to Rs 1,222 billion during FY20.
The current Price to earnings ratio of HDFC BANK, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 28.8x.
