HPCL Gains 5%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Up 2.0%

HPCL share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 387.6.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 27,400.5 (up 2.0%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are BPCL (up 3.4%) and ADANI TOTAL GAS (up 3.3%).

GUJARAT GAS (down 1.8%) is among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, HPCL has moved down from Rs 389.4 to Rs 387.6, registering a loss of Rs 1.8 (down 0.5%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 26,842.4 to 27,400.5, registering a gain of 2.1% during the last 12 months.

HPCL Financial Update...

HPCL net profit grew 29.3% YoY to Rs 38,904 million for the quarter ended December 2025, compared to a profit of Rs 30,082 million a year ago. Net sales rose 4.7% to Rs 1,245,827 million during the period as against Rs 1,190,405 million in October-December 2024.

For the year ended March 2025, HPCL reported 57.9% decrease in net profit to Rs 67,357 million compared to net profit of Rs 160,146 million during FY24. Revenue of the company fell 1.0% to Rs 4,014,887 million during FY25.

The current Price to earnings ratio of HPCL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 5.6.
