HPCL Gains 6%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Up 2.2%

Among the top gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are BPCL (up 4.9%) and IOC (up 3.1%).
Over the last one year, HPCL has moved down from Rs 382.1 to Rs 367.5, registering a loss of Rs 14.7 (down 3.8%).
On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 24,535.4 to 26,923.4, registering a gain of 9.7% during the last 12 months.
The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were ONGC (up 25.5%), IOC (up 10.4%) and Reliance Ind. (up 10.0%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?
The BSE Sensex is at 78,052.3 (up 1.6%).
The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Eternal Ltd (up 3.8%) and Tata Motors (up 3.7%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Eternal Ltd.
In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,229.1 (up 1.6%). Eternal Ltd and Hindalco are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.
Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 75,157.3 to 78,052.3, registering a gain of 2,895.0 points (up 3.9%).
HPCL Financial Update...
HPCL net profit grew 29.3% YoY to Rs 38,904 million for the quarter ended December 2025, compared to a profit of Rs 30,082 million a year ago. Net sales rose 4.7% to Rs 1,245,827 million during the period as against Rs 1,190,405 million in October-December 2024.
For the year ended March 2025, HPCL reported 57.9% decrease in net profit to Rs 67,357 million compared to net profit of Rs 160,146 million during FY24. Revenue of the company fell 1.0% to Rs 4,014,887 million during FY25.
The current Price to earnings ratio of HPCL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 5.3.
