HPCL share price has plunged 3% and is presently trading at Rs 475.7.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 27,995.2 (down 2.0%).

Among the top losers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are Reliance Ind. (down 4.7%) and BPCL (down 3.3%).

ONGC (up 0.7%) and Petronet LNG (up 0.4%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, HPCL has moved up from Rs 412.5 to Rs 475.7, registering a gain of Rs 63.3 (up 15.3%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 26,425.1 to 27,995.2, registering a gain of 5.9% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were BPCL (up 23.1%), Reliance Ind. (up 21.1%) and IOC (up 17.2%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 84,997.0 (down 0.5%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Reliance Ind. (down 4.7%) and Tata Motors (down 2.0%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are NTPC and HDFC Bank.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 26,156.6 (down 0.4%). Trent and Reliance Ind. are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 79,943.7 to 84,997.0, registering a gain of 5,053.3 points (up 6.3%).

HPCL Financial Update...

HPCL net profit grew 585.7% YoY to Rs 36,665 million for the quarter ended September 2025, compared to a profit of Rs 5,347 million a year ago. Net sales rose 2.0% to Rs 1,103,970 million during the period as against Rs 1,082,477 million in July-September 2024.

For the year ended March 2025, HPCL reported 57.9% decrease in net profit to Rs 67,357 million compared to net profit of Rs 160,146 million during FY24. Revenue of the company fell 1.0% to Rs 4,014,887 million during FY25.

The current Price to earnings ratio of HPCL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 7.2.
