Indian Bank share price has plunged 4% and is presently trading at Rs 839.0.

Meanwhile, the BSE BANKEX index is at 62,351.1 (up 0.1%).

Among the top losers in the BSE BANKEX index today are Indusind Bank (down 3.5%) and IDFC FIRST BANK (down 1.2%).

Axis Bank (up 2.0%) and Kotak Bank (up 1.8%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, Indian Bank has moved up from Rs 652.0 to Rs 839.0, registering a gain of Rs 187.0 (up 28.7%).

On the other hand, the BSE BANKEX index has moved down from 63,995.6 to 62,351.1, registering a loss of 2.6% during the last 12 months.

The top losers among the BSE BANKEX index stocks during this same period were HDFC Bank (down 24.2%), ICICI Bank (down 9.7%) and Kotak Bank (down 9.2%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 74,304.3 (up 0.5%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Axis Bank (up 2.0%) and Hindustan Unilever (up 1.9%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Reliance Ind. and HDFC Bank.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 23,327.8 (up 0.4%). Axis Bank and Hindustan Unilever are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved down from 82,445.2 to 74,304.3, registering a loss of 8,140.9 points (down 9.9%).

Indian Bank Financial Update...

Indian Bank net profit grew 5.2% YoY to Rs 31,152 million for the quarter ended March 2026, compared to a profit of Rs 29,614 million a year ago. Net sales rose 10.3% to Rs 174,885 million during the period as against Rs 158,596 million in January-March 2025.

For the year ended March 2026, Indian Bank reported 3.9% increase in net profit to Rs 117,043 million compared to net profit of Rs 112,615 million during FY25. Revenue of the company grew 8.8% to Rs 675,041 million during FY26.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Indian Bank, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 9.9.
