Jindal Steel share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 990.0.

Meanwhile, the BSE METAL index is at 31,050.1 (up 2.5%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE METAL index today are Tata Steel (up 4.3%) and SAIL (up 4.2%).

APOLLO TUBES (down 0.3%) is among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, Jindal Steel has moved up from Rs 988.8 to Rs 990.0, registering a gain of Rs 1.2 (up 0.1%).

On the other hand, the BSE METAL index has moved down from 32,771.1 to 31,050.1, registering a loss of 5.3% during the last 12 months.

The top losers among the BSE METAL index stocks during this same period were Hindustan Zinc (down 34.8%), Coal India (down 28.1%) and SAIL (down 18.1%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 80,993.8 (up 0.5%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Tata Steel (up 4.3%) and MUNDRA PORT & SEZ (up 2.7%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Axis Bank and Tata Steel.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,719.5 (up 0.6%). Tata Steel and Hero Motocorp are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved down from 81,741.3 to 80,993.8, registering a loss of 747.5 points (down 0.9%).

Jindal Steel Financial Update...

Jindal Steel net profit fell 131.5% YoY to Rs -2,944 million for the quarter ended March 2025, compared to a profit of Rs 9,333 million a year ago. Net sales declined 2.3% to Rs 131,831 million during the period as against Rs 134,870 million in January-March 2024.

For the year ended March 2024, Jindal Steel reported 86.1% increase in net profit to Rs 59,433 million compared to net profit of Rs 31,932 million during FY23. Revenue of the company fell 6.3% to Rs 420,953 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Jindal Steel, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 35.4.
