Indian Stock Market Updates January 27, 2021

LIC HOUSING Share Price Down by 5%; BSE 500 Index Down 1.6%

LIC HOUSING share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 417.

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 18,692 (down 1.6%).

Among the top losers in the BSE 500 Index today are LIC HOUSING (down 5.2%) and INFO EDGE (down 5.5%).

CYIENT (up 11.6%) and TATA ELXSI (up 7.5%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, LIC HOUSING has moved down from Rs 477 to Rs 417, registering a loss of Rs 60 (down 12.5%)..

The BSE 500 has moved up from 15,797 to 18,692, registering a gain of 2,895 points (up 18.3%) during the last 12 months.

The top buzzing stocks among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were ADANI GREEN ENERGY (up 420.5%), LAURUS LABS (up 357.8%) and DIXON TECHNOLOGIES (up 234.3%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 48,387 (down 1.9%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are TECH MAHINDRA (up 2.6%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are ITC and TECH MAHINDRA.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 14,238 (down 1.9%). TECH MAHINDRA (up 2.6%) and SBI LIFE INSURANCE (up 2.0%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 41,115 to 48,387, registering a gain of 7,272 points (up 15.37%).

LIC HOUSING Financial Update...

LIC HOUSING net profit down at Rs 4 billion for the quarter ended March 2020, compared to a loss of Rs 6 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 1.7% to Rs 49.1 billion during the period as against Rs 50.0 billion in January-March 2019.

For the year ended March 2020, LIC HOUSING reported 1.5% decrease in net profit to Rs 24.0 billion compared to net profit of Rs 24.3 billion during FY19.

Revenue of the company grew 13.6% to Rs 196 billion during FY20.

The current Price to earnings ratio of LIC HOUSING, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 8.3x.
