MARICO at All Time High; BSE FMCG Index Down 0.0%

MARICO share price has hit an all-time high at Rs 522 (up 2.1%).

Meanwhile, the BSE FMCG Index is at 13,508 .

Among the top gainers in the BSE FMCG Index today are MARICO (up 2.1%) and NESTLE (up 0.3%).

BAJAJ CONSUMER CARE (down 0.3%) and PARAG MILK FOODS (down 0.5%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, MARICO has moved up from Rs 331 to Rs 522, registering a gain of Rs 192 (up 56.1%).

The BSE FMCG has moved up from 10,724 to 13,508, registering a gain of 2,784 points (up 25.6%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE FMCG Index stocks during this same period were EMAMI (up 179.1%), ADVANCED ENZYME TECHNOLOGIES (up 159.5%) and BALRAMPUR CHINI (up 147.1%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 52,524 (down 0.6%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are ULTRATECH CEMENT (up 2.1%), ASIAN PAINTS (up 1.5%) and TCS (up 0.8%). Other gainers include INFOSYS (up 0.6%) and HUL (up 0.4%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are INFOSYS and HUL.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 15,769 (down 0.7%). The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include ULTRATECH CEMENT (up 1.8%), ASIAN PAINTS (up 1.4%) and TATA CONSUMER (up 1.3%). Other gainers include SHREE CEMENT (up 1.0%) and HDFC LIFE INSURANCE (up 0.9%).

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 33,229 to 52,524, registering a gain of 19,295 points (up 57.1%).

MARICO Financial Update...

MARICO net profit stood at Rs 3 billion for the quarter ended December 2020, compared to a profit of Rs 3 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 16.3% to Rs 21.2 billion during the period as against Rs 18.2 billion in October-December 2019.

For the year ended March 2020, MARICO reported 5.3% decrease in net profit to Rs 10.7 billion compared to net profit of Rs 11.3 billion during FY19.

Revenue of the company grew 0.3% to Rs 73 billion during FY20.

The current Price to earnings ratio of MARICO, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 56.7x.
