Indian Stock Market Updates January 27, 2021

MRPL Share Price Down by 5%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Down 2.1%

MRPL share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 37.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS Index is at 14,188 (down 2.1%).

Among the top losers in the BSE OIL & GAS Index today is MRPL (down 5.2%).

OIL INDIA (up 1.9%) is among the top gainer today.

Over the last one year, MRPL has moved down from Rs 45 to Rs 37, registering a loss of Rs 8 (down 18.5%)..

The BSE OIL & GAS has moved down from 14,337 to 14,188, loss of 149 points (down 1.0%) during the last 12 months.

The top buzzing stocks among the BSE OIL & GAS Index stocks during this same period were RELIANCE IND. (up 24.9%), INDRAPRASTHA GAS (up 13.3%) and GAIL (up 1.4%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 48,387 (down 1.9%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are TECH MAHINDRA (up 2.7%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are ITC and TECH MAHINDRA.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 14,238 (down 1.9%). TECH MAHINDRA (up 2.4%) is among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 41,115 to 48,387, registering a gain of 7,272 points (up 15.34%).

MRPL Financial Update...

MRPL net profit down at Rs 16 billion for the quarter ended March 2020, compared to a loss of Rs 366 million a year ago. Net Sales rose 4.8% to Rs 175.5 billion during the period as against Rs 167.4 billion in January-March 2019.

For the year ended March 2018, MRPL reported 6.4% increase in net profit to Rs 18.0 billion compared to net profit of Rs 16.9 billion during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 6.2% to Rs 637 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of MRPL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at down 2.3x.
