Maruti Suzuki Plunges 4%; BSE AUTO Index Down 1.9%

Maruti Suzuki share price has plunged 4% and is presently trading at Rs 13,145.0.

Meanwhile, the BSE AUTO index is at 57,607.9 (down 1.9%).

Among the top losers in the BSE AUTO index today are Eicher Motor (down 4.1%) and Hero Motocorp (down 3.4%).

Tata Motors (up 0.6%) is among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, Maruti Suzuki has moved up from Rs 11,462.0 to Rs 13,145.0, registering a gain of Rs 1,683.1 (up 14.7%).

On the other hand, the BSE AUTO index has moved up from 45,145.0 to 57,607.9, registering a gain of 27.6% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE AUTO index stocks during this same period were Cummins India (up 82.7%), Ashok Leyland (up 69.8%) and Motherson Sumi (up 58.5%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 76,482.3 (down 1.4%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are HDFC Bank (down 2.6%) and SBI (down 2.5%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Kotak Bank and HDFC Bank.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 23,746.3 (down 1.3%). Eicher Motor and Hero Motocorp are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 73,847.2 to 76,482.3, registering a gain of 2,635.1 points (up 3.6%).

Maruti Suzuki Financial Update...

Maruti Suzuki net profit grew 3.7% YoY to Rs 37,937 million for the quarter ended December 2025, compared to a profit of Rs 36,598 million a year ago. Net sales rose 28.7% to Rs 499,041 million during the period as against Rs 387,643 million in October-December 2024.

For the year ended March 2025, Maruti Suzuki reported 7.5% increase in net profit to Rs 145,002 million compared to net profit of Rs 134,882 million during FY24. Revenue of the company grew 7.8% to Rs 1,529,130 million during FY25.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Maruti Suzuki, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 28.2.
