NEWGEN SOFTWARE share price has zoomed 17% and is presently trading at Rs 605.0.

Meanwhile, the BSE IT index is at 31,359.7 (down 0.8%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE IT index today are Birlasoft (up 2.3%) and Sonata Software (up 2.0%).

PERSISTENT SYSTEMS (down 4.6%) and CYIENT (down 2.9%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, NEWGEN SOFTWARE has moved down from Rs 968.2 to Rs 605.0, registering a loss of Rs 363.3 (down 37.5%).

On the other hand, the BSE IT index has moved down from 40,301.6 to 31,359.7, registering a loss of 22.2% during the last 12 months.

The top losers among the BSE IT index stocks during this same period were ROUTE MOBILE (down 51.3%), HAPPIEST MINDS TECHNOLOGIES (down 42.6%) and KPIT TECHNOLOGIES (down 35.3%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 82,498.1 (down 1.5%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are M&M (down 3.0%) and Ultratech Cement (down 2.9%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Reliance Ind..

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 25,410.2 (down 1.6%). Hero Motocorp and Ultratech Cement are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 75,996.9 to 82,498.1, registering a gain of 6,501.3 points (up 8.6%).

NEWGEN SOFTWARE Financial Update...

NEWGEN SOFTWARE net profit fell 29.4% YoY to Rs 628 million for the quarter ended December 2025, compared to a profit of Rs 890 million a year ago. Net sales rose 5.0% to Rs 4,003 million during the period as against Rs 3,811 million in October-December 2024.

For the year ended March 2025, NEWGEN SOFTWARE reported 25.3% increase in net profit to Rs 3,152 million compared to net profit of Rs 2,516 million during FY24. Revenue of the company grew 19.5% to Rs 14,869 million during FY25.

The current Price to earnings ratio of NEWGEN SOFTWARE, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 28.5.
