NHPC Gains 5%; BSE POWER Index Up 0.2%

Meanwhile, the BSE POWER index is at 6,667.5 (up 0.2%).
Among the top gainers in the BSE POWER index today are BHEL (up 0.8%) and ABB (up 0.4%).
Thermax (down 2.4%) and Power Grid Corp. (down 1.2%) are among the top losers today.
Over the last one year, NHPC has moved down from Rs 85.7 to Rs 85.4, registering a loss of Rs 0.3 (down 0.3%).
On the other hand, the BSE POWER index has moved up from 6,546.4 to 6,667.5, registering a gain of 1.9% during the last 12 months.
The top gainers among the BSE POWER index stocks during this same period were INDIAN ENERGY EXCHANGE (up 33.5%), KEC INTERNATIONAL (up 18.3%) and NTPC (up 10.0%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?
The BSE Sensex is at 77,459.2 (down 0.2%).
The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are M&M (down 3.4%) and Infosys (down 1.6%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are ZOMATO and Tata Motors.
In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 23,543.3 (down 0.2%). M&M and Wipro are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.
Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 72,470.3 to 77,459.2, registering a gain of 4,988.9 points (up 6.9%).
NHPC Financial Update...
NHPC net profit fell 44.4% YoY to Rs 2,952 million for the quarter ended December 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 5,308 million a year ago. Net sales rose 11.3% to Rs 22,868 million during the period as against Rs 20,555 million in October-December 2023.
For the year ended March 2024, NHPC reported 5.5% decrease in net profit to Rs 40,280 million compared to net profit of Rs 42,608 million during FY23. Revenue of the company fell 9.2% to Rs 96,322 million during FY24.
The current Price to earnings ratio of NHPC, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 31.8.
