ONGC at 52 Week High; BSE 500 Index Up 1.0%

ONGC share price has hit a 52-week high at Rs 121 (up 5.2%).

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 20,123 (up 0.7%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE 500 Index today are ONGC (up 5.2%) and BEML (up 13.1%).

DHFL (down 4.8%) and CORPORATION BANK (down 3.9%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, ONGC has moved up from Rs 93 to Rs 121, registering a gain of Rs 28 (up 30.16%).

The BSE 500 has moved up from 14,676 to 20,123, registering a gain of 5,447 points (up 36.9%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were ADANI GREEN ENERGY (up 673.3%), ADANI GAS (up 460.2%) and JAIN IRRIGATION (up 398.9%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 50,795 (up 0.6%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are ONGC (up 5.2%), AXIS BANK (up 2.0%) and L&T (up 1.9%). Other gainers include NTPC (up 1.6%) and RELIANCE IND. (up 1.5%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are ONGC and SBI.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 15,056 (up 0.6%). GAIL (up 5.4%) and ONGC (up 5.2%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 38,409 to 50,795, registering a gain of 12,386 points (up 32.0%).

ONGC Financial Update...

ONGC net profit down at Rs 14 billion for the quarter ended December 2020, compared to a loss of Rs 42 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 28.2% to Rs 170.2 billion during the period as against Rs 237.1 billion in October-December 2019.

For the year ended March 2020, ONGC reported 39.1% decrease in net profit to Rs 195.3 billion compared to net profit of Rs 321.0 billion during FY19.

Revenue of the company grew 6.3% to Rs 4,250 billion during FY20.

The current Price to earnings ratio of ONGC, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 91.9x.
