Oil India Gains 5%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Down 0.8%

Oil India share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 477.4.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 28,846.5 (down 0.8%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today is ONGC (up 3.8%).

HPCL (down 5.3%) and BPCL (down 3.8%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, Oil India has moved up from Rs 400.9 to Rs 477.4, registering a gain of Rs 76.5 (up 19.1%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 23,524.1 to 28,846.5, registering a gain of 22.6% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were IOC (up 46.6%), BPCL (up 45.4%) and HPCL (up 36.0%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 82,498.1 (down 1.5%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are M&M (down 3.0%) and Ultratech Cement (down 2.9%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Reliance Ind..

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 25,410.2 (down 1.6%). Hero Motocorp and Ultratech Cement are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 75,996.9 to 82,498.1, registering a gain of 6,501.3 points (up 8.6%).

Oil India Financial Update...

Oil India net profit grew 4.2% YoY to Rs 16,594 million for the quarter ended December 2025, compared to a profit of Rs 15,932 million a year ago. Net sales rose 0.2% to Rs 91,114 million during the period as against Rs 90,891 million in October-December 2024.

For the year ended March 2025, Oil India reported 0.8% increase in net profit to Rs 70,396 million compared to net profit of Rs 69,805 million during FY24. Revenue of the company grew 0.8% to Rs 288,612 million during FY25.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Oil India, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 12.5.
