SAIL Gains 4%; BSE METAL Index Up 2.2%

Meanwhile, the BSE METAL index is at 31,691.3 (up 2.2%).
Among the top gainers in the BSE METAL index today are Jindal Steel (up 3.5%) and Vedanta (up 2.9%).
APOLLO TUBES (down 0.3%) is among the top losers today.
Over the last one year, SAIL has moved down from Rs 149.9 to Rs 133.2, registering a loss of Rs 16.7 (down 11.1%).
On the other hand, the BSE METAL index has moved down from 33,430.3 to 31,691.3, registering a loss of 5.2% during the last 12 months.
The top losers among the BSE METAL index stocks during this same period were Hindustan Zinc (down 31.9%), NMDC (down 20.0%) and Coal India (down 16.9%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?
The BSE Sensex is at 83,708.9 (up 1.2%).
The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Tata Steel (up 2.6%) and Eternal Ltd (up 2.5%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Eternal Ltd.
In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 25,541.5 (up 1.2%). Shriram Transport and IOC are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.
Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 77,341.1 to 83,708.9, registering a gain of 6,367.8 points (up 8.2%).
SAIL Financial Update...
SAIL net profit grew 18.1% YoY to Rs 11,575 million for the quarter ended March 2025, compared to a profit of Rs 9,802 million a year ago. Net sales rose 4.9% to Rs 293,161 million during the period as against Rs 279,585 million in January-March 2024.
For the year ended March 2024, SAIL reported 40.9% increase in net profit to Rs 30,667 million compared to net profit of Rs 21,765 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 0.9% to Rs 1,053,783 million during FY24.
The current Price to earnings ratio of SAIL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 29.2.
