SAIL Gains 7%; BSE METAL Index Up 1.9%

SAIL share price has zoomed 7% and is presently trading at Rs 141.0.

Meanwhile, the BSE METAL index is at 35,794.5 (up 1.9%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE METAL index today are Hindustan Zinc (up 2.5%) and NMDC (up 2.5%).

Over the last one year, SAIL has moved up from Rs 114.7 to Rs 141.0, registering a gain of Rs 26.3 (up 22.9%).

On the other hand, the BSE METAL index has moved up from 31,235.8 to 35,794.5, registering a gain of 14.6% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE METAL index stocks during this same period were JSW Steel (up 25.0%), Tata Steel (up 24.2%) and APOLLO TUBES (up 24.2%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 84,895.8 (up 0.3%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are MUNDRA PORT & SEZ (up 2.6%) and NTPC (up 2.3%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Axis Bank.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 26,034.2 (up 0.4%). IOC and Adani Enterprises are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 80,005.0 to 84,895.8, registering a gain of 4,890.7 points (up 6.1%).

SAIL Financial Update...

SAIL net profit grew 2800.0% YoY to Rs 6,715 million for the quarter ended June 2025, compared to a loss of Rs 249 million a year ago. Net sales rose 8.0% to Rs 259,218 million during the period as against Rs 239,978 million in April-June 2024.

For the year ended March 2025, SAIL reported 22.7% decrease in net profit to Rs 23,718 million compared to net profit of Rs 30,667 million during FY24. Revenue of the company fell 2.8% to Rs 1,024,791 million during FY25.

The current Price to earnings ratio of SAIL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 22.6.
