SUN PHARMA Surges by 7%; BSE HEALTHCARE Index Up 2.4%

SUN PHARMA share price has zoomed 7% and is presently trading at Rs 461.

Meanwhile, the BSE HEALTHCARE Index is at 13,560 (up 2.4%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE HEALTHCARE Index today are SUN PHARMA (up 6.9%) and STRIDES PHARMA SCIENCE (up 5.2%).

PROCTER & GAMBLE HEALTH (down 0.2%) and ERIS LIFESCIENCES LIMITED (down 0.2%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, SUN PHARMA has moved down from Rs 531 to Rs 461, registering a loss of Rs 70 (down 14.2%).

On the other hand, the BSE HEALTHCARE has moved down from 14,461 to 13,560, loss of 901 points (down 6.5%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE HEALTHCARE Index stocks during this same period were DR. LAL PATHLABS LTD (up 91.1%), ABBOTT INDIA (up 67.3%) and ASTRAZENECA PHARMA (up 58.8%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 40,816 (up 0.5%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are SUN PHARMA (up 6.9%), INDUSIND BANK (up 4.6%) and RELIANCE IND. (up 3.1%). Other gainers include COAL INDIA (up 1.7%) and MARUTI SUZUKI (up 1.6%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are YES BANK and BHARTI AIRTEL.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 12,039 (up 0.5%). SUN PHARMA (up 7.2%) and ZEE ENTERTAINMENT (up 5.4%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 35,775 to 40,816, registering a gain of 5,041 points (up 13.7%).

SUN PHARMA Financial Update...

SUN PHARMA net profit down at Rs 12 billion for the quarter ended September 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 15 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 5.0% to Rs 81.2 billion during the period as against Rs 77.4 billion in July-September 2018.

For the year ended March 2019, SUN PHARMA reported 25.7% increase in net profit to Rs 44.2 billion compared to net profit of Rs 35.2 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 9.7% to Rs 291 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of SUN PHARMA, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 22.5x.
