TCS share price has plunged 7% and is presently trading at Rs 2,273.0.

Meanwhile, the BSE IT index is at 28,762.4 (down 4.5%).

Among the top losers in the BSE IT index today are LTIMINDTREE (down 6.9%) and Tech Mahindra (down 5.0%).

INDIAMART INTERMESH (up 0.2%) is among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, TCS has moved down from Rs 3,449.8 to Rs 2,273.0, registering a loss of Rs 1,176.8 (down 34.1%).

On the other hand, the BSE IT index has moved down from 36,681.9 to 28,762.4, registering a loss of 21.6% during the last 12 months.

The top losers among the BSE IT index stocks during this same period were ROUTE MOBILE (down 44.5%), KPIT TECHNOLOGIES (down 41.8%) and INTELLECT DESIGN (down 39.3%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 73,758.8 (down 1.2%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Tech Mahindra (down 5.0%) and Infosys (down 4.1%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are TCS and ITC.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 23,265.3 (down 0.9%). Tech Mahindra and Infosys are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved down from 81,373.8 to 73,758.8, registering a loss of 7,614.9 points (down 9.4%).

TCS Financial Update...

TCS net profit grew 12.1% YoY to Rs 137,840 million for the quarter ended March 2026, compared to a profit of Rs 122,930 million a year ago. Net sales rose 9.6% to Rs 706,980 million during the period as against Rs 644,790 million in January-March 2025.

For the year ended March 2026, TCS reported 1.3% increase in net profit to Rs 494,540 million compared to net profit of Rs 487,970 million during FY25. Revenue of the company grew 4.6% to Rs 2,670,210 million during FY26.

The current Price to earnings ratio of TCS, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 16.6.
