Wipro Plunges 7%; BSE IT Index Down 1.0%

Wipro share price has plunged 7% and is presently trading at Rs 247.1.

Meanwhile, the BSE IT index is at 37,405.3 (down 1.0%).

Among the top losers in the BSE IT index today are INDIAMART INTERMESH (down 3.1%) and Eclerx Services (down 2.7%).

Tech Mahindra (up 2.9%) and Mastek (up 2.2%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, Wipro has moved down from Rs 292.9 to Rs 247.1, registering a loss of Rs 45.8 (down 15.6%).

On the other hand, the BSE IT index has moved down from 42,786.6 to 37,405.3, registering a loss of 12.6% during the last 12 months.

The top losers among the BSE IT index stocks during this same period were ROUTE MOBILE (down 52.2%), Sonata Software (down 43.5%) and HAPPIEST MINDS TECHNOLOGIES (down 40.4%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 83,119.6 (down 0.5%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Tata Motors (down 2.9%) and ICICI Bank (down 2.9%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Eternal Ltd and HDFC Bank.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 25,565.6 (down 0.5%). Tata Motors and ICICI Bank are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 76,499.6 to 83,119.6, registering a gain of 6,619.9 points (up 8.7%).

Wipro Financial Update...

Wipro net profit fell 6.7% YoY to Rs 31,422 million for the quarter ended December 2025, compared to a profit of Rs 33,662 million a year ago. Net sales rose 5.5% to Rs 235,558 million during the period as against Rs 223,188 million in October-December 2024.

For the year ended March 2025, Wipro reported 19.0% increase in net profit to Rs 132,180 million compared to net profit of Rs 111,121 million during FY24. Revenue of the company fell 0.7% to Rs 890,884 million during FY25.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Wipro, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 19.5.
