BHARTI AIRTEL Plunges by 5%; BSE 500 Index Down 1.7%

BHARTI AIRTEL share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 373.

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 14,995 (down 1.7%).

Among the top losers in the BSE 500 Index today are BHARTI AIRTEL (down 5.0%) and ISGEC HEAVY ENG. (down 8.4%).

GMR INFRA (up 4.6%) and PC JEWELLER (up 3.5%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, BHARTI AIRTEL has moved down from Rs 400 to Rs 373, registering a loss of Rs 26 (down 6.6%)..

The BSE 500 has moved up from 14,110 to 14,995, registering a gain of 885 points (up 6.3%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were HEG LTD (up 275.5%), INDIABULLS VENTURES (up 160.6%) and SONATA SOFTWARE (up 148.1%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 36,946 (down 1.4%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are TCS (up 3.1%), INFOSYS LTD (up 2.3%) and ONGC (up 1.7%). Other gainers include COAL INDIA (up 1.6%) and NTPC (up 1.3%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are VEDANTA LTD and INFOSYS LTD.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,170 (down 1.6%). TCS (up 3.2%) and TECH MAHINDRA (up 2.9%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 32,370 to 36,946, registering a gain of 4,576 points (up 12.2%).

BHARTI AIRTEL Financial Update...

BHARTI AIRTEL net profit down at Rs 3 billion for the quarter ended June 2018, compared to a loss of Rs 6 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 1.2% to Rs 200.8 billion during the period as against Rs 203.2 billion in April-June 2017.

For the year ended March 2018, BHARTI AIRTEL reported 45.0% decrease in net profit to Rs 29.8 billion compared to net profit of Rs 54.1 billion during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 12.3% to Rs 837 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of BHARTI AIRTEL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 75.4x.
