BPCL plunged by 5%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Down 2.1%

BPCL share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 394.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS Index is at 14,226 (Down 2.1%).

Among the top losers in the BSE OIL & GAS Index today are BPCL (down 5.41%) and HPCL (down 5.53%)

CASTROL INDIA (up 1.56%) and PETRONET LNG (up 0.28%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, BPCL has moved down from Rs 464 to Rs 394, registering a loss of Rs 70 (down 19.03%).

The BSE OIL & GAS has moved up from 13,855 to 14,226, registering a gain of 371 points (up 0.68%) during the last 12 months.

BPCL Financial Update...

BPCL net profit grew 94.4% YoY to Rs 21 billion for the quarter ended December 2017, compared to a profit of Rs 23 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 109.5% to Rs 702.0 billion during the period as against Rs 641.0 billion in October-December 2016.

For the year ended March 2017, BPCL reported 110.7% increase in net profit to Rs 85.6 billion compared to net profit of Rs 77.4 billion during FY16.

Revenue of the company grew 111.2% to Rs 2,437 billion during FY17.

The current Price to earnings ratio of BPCL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 7.7x.
