CHENNAI PETROLEUM Surges by 5%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Up 0.4%

CHENNAI PETROLEUM share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 291.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS Index is at 13,663 (up 0.4%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS Index today is CHENNAI PETROLEUM (up 5.3%).

ONGC (down 0.2%) and INDRAPRASTHA GAS (down 0.6%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, CHENNAI PETROLEUM has moved down from Rs 417 to Rs 291, registering a loss of Rs 127 (down 30.5%).

CHENNAI PETROLEUM Financial Update...

CHENNAI PETROLEUM net profit down at Rs 236 million for the quarter ended September 2018, compared to a loss of Rs 4 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 33.1% to Rs 150.8 billion during the period as against Rs 113.3 billion in July-September 2017.

For the year ended March 2017, CHENNAI PETROLEUM reported 39.0% increase in net profit to Rs 10.2 billion compared to net profit of Rs 7.4 billion during FY16.

Revenue of the company grew 16.1% to Rs 406 billion during FY17.

The current Price to earnings ratio of CHENNAI PETROLEUM, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 5.8x.
